Mission Statement

Friends of Riverview Park (FOR Park) is a volunteer committee that works to advocate on behalf of Riverview Park. FOR Park is a project of the Northside Leadership Conference in partnership with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.

Action Plan

FOR Park is comprised of faithful stewards of Riverview Park. Their deep knowledge of the park’s master plan, completed and proposed projects, strong community knowledge and relationships and work to build the Friends of Riverview Park make them a valuable partner.

FOR Park’s primary purpose is to champion the Master Plan, and to advise and support the City of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy staff in planning, design development and project prioritization. The Initiative serves as liaison to community stakeholders and fill the function of “park watchdog.”

Reggae in Riverview 2026

Saturday, August 1

Join us for the 6th annual Reggae At Riverview on Saturday, August 1, 2026 for a day filled with live music, DJs, and Caribbean food and vendors!

This is Pittsburgh’s only free and family-friendly reggae music festival located at the Valley Refuge Shelter from 12:00 – 8:30pm.

Riverview Park Day

Since 2018, Riverview Park Day has gathered Pittsburgh residents to celebrate and support Riverview Park. Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Riverview Park Activities Building (142 Riverview Avenue, Pittsburgh, 15214) for a day of celebration, community, and support for one of Pittsburgh's beloved green spaces, hosted in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, Friends of Riverview Parks, Northside Leadership Conference, and the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.

FOR Park Committee

Committee meetings are generally held on the fourth Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Visitor’s Center or Chapel Shelter in Riverview Park. Meeting locations will be posted on the FOR Park Facebook page and sent to the FOR Park email list each month.
